On the Relationship between Subjective and Objective Properties in John Searle’s Biological Naturalism
Vol 13, No 3 (2012) • Filosofia Unisinos - Unisinos Journal of Philosophy
Autor: Tárik de Athayde Prata
Resumo:
The article examines John Searles’ theory of the relation between subjective and objective properties. Such relation is conceived by him as a peculiar way of causal supervenience, which consists of the relation between properties that cannot be identified as types. Since he conceives this supervenience as a mere result of the laws of nature, his ontology of the mind relapses into property dualism.
